Military Disobedience & Media Bias: An Angry Republican’s Take on the Greenland Controversy

By a Proud Patriot

The latest revelations regarding the actions at Pituffik Space Base in Greenland have set off sparks among patriotic citizens. A recent report by Military.com demonstrates how Space Force Col. Susan Meyers is not on board with Vice President J.D. Vance’s fiery remarks during his March 28 visit—a clear nod to President Trump’s vision for turning Greenland into a linchpin of national security.

In an era when America stands up for its interests first, it’s alarming to see a high-ranking military officer seemingly undermining the chain of command and distancing herself from the elected leadership’s policies. Instead of endorsing the bold America-first message, Col. Meyers chose to send an email to base personnel that appears to undercut the decisive stance championed by the Trump administration.

As reported, the email emphasized unity among U.S., Canadian, Danish, and Greenlandic personnel. However, it subtly handed a rebuke to Trump’s approach—an approach that America’s true patriots know is necessary to counter threats from nations like China and Russia. When Vice President Vance visited the base, he reinforced President Trump’s contention that Greenland’s security infrastructure has been neglected under the Danish regime, leaving the region alarmingly exposed.

“President Trump, as he says all the time and as a lot of people recognize, is a president of peace,” Vance stated. “We want to have good relationships with everybody; that includes even, to the extent possible, the Chinese and the Russians. But part of having good relations is showing your strength when you have to.”

Vice President Vance didn’t stop there. His criticism of Denmark’s failure to invest meaningfully in Greenland’s defense resonates with any citizen who values national security. As Vance declared:

“Our message to Denmark is very simple: You have not done a good job by the people of Greenland, you have underinvested in the people of Greenland, and you have underinvested in the security architecture of this incredible, beautiful landmass filled with incredible people. That has to change.”

These statements are not just commentary—they are calls to action. It is an offense to our national security when military officers use their positions to cast doubt on policies designed to protect American interests. The recent email from Col. Meyers, in which she stated:

“I do not presume to understand current politics, but what I do know is the concerns of the U.S. administration discussed by Vice President Vance on Friday are not reflective of Pituffik Space Base.”

…sends a dangerous message. To allow such insubordination is to risk diluting the unwavering principle of civilian control over the military, a cornerstone of our nation’s strength and stability.

The Department of Defense was quick to clamp down on this breach of protocol. Chief of Staff Joe Kasper’s declaration remains a reminder of where the line must be drawn:

“Civilian control of the military is a bedrock principle of our armed forces. Actions to undermine the chain of command or to subvert President Trump’s agenda will not be tolerated at the Defense Department.”

This stand by the top brass in the Pentagon is both necessary and reassuring in a time when even some within the military seem to have lost sight of the national mission. The attempt to soften, or even disavow, a strong national security posture is a betrayal to all Americans who have backed an America-first policy.

What’s even more infuriating is the double standard embraced by the liberal media. While they readily trumpet military professionalism when it suits their narrative, their silence on Col. Meyers’ brazen insubordination speaks volumes. Under a Democratic administration, mainstream outlets like CNN and The New York Times would have spun this as an act of rebellion against “authoritarianism.” Instead, they choose to ignore it—revealing an unmistakable bias against efforts to secure America’s future.

President Trump has consistently prioritized the defense of our Arctic territories, recognizing Greenland’s strategic significance in thwarting missile threats and curbing Russian and Chinese expansion. The decision by a key military officer to dilute that firm stance is not only unacceptable—it’s an affront to every American who believes in putting our country’s security above political noise.
