Things get even darker. Months before his botched plan, Routh sent a letter to a neighbor. In it, he declared his plan to kill Trump – a backup announcement if he didn’t pull it off. “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you,” Routh wrote in the chilling note.

Prosecutors say Routh even tried to buy a rocket launcher from Ukraine just weeks before his doomed attempt. He wanted the weapon shipped right to him, all in the name of stopping Trump from winning again.

And that’s not all. Before everything blew up, Routh tried his hand recruiting volunteer soldiers for Ukraine’s fight against Russia. His amateur recruitments even landed him a few interviews with mainstream media covering the war in Ukraine. As reported by National Review, the whole saga reads like a bad spy movie.

One has to wonder—if Kamala had won in November, would we even be talking about these charges? Probably not.
