Dairy Producer Bows to Pressure and Ditches Bovaer After Outrageous Boycott

I have some very big and exciting news to share with you today. One of the largest dairy producers in Norway has officially stopped using a controversial methane suppressant called Bovaer in their cow feed. This is significant because Tine and Q-Meieriene, the two biggest dairy companies in Norway, had introduced Bovaer in 2023 as a way to reduce methane emissions from cows. They marketed this product as “climate milk,” but it didn’t sit well with consumers.

In fact, many shoppers were not interested in buying climate milk at all. As a result, Tine made the surprising decision to stop selling their climate milk separately and instead mixed it with regular milk without informing customers. This means that people may unknowingly be drinking milk from cows that have been fed this chemical. Reports indicate that supermarkets across Norway struggled to sell this Bovaer-infused milk, often having to discount it heavily while regular milk flew off the shelves.

Bovaer has raised serious concerns among health experts. Studies suggest that this chemical could potentially harm fertility and affect unborn children. In high doses, it has even been reported that the ovaries of cows began to shrink after being fed this substance, raising alarms about its safety and effectiveness.

But there’s more good news! Q-Meieriene announced they would also stop using Bovaer due to consumer backlash against their climate milk. The company stated, “Demand for Q climate milk has not been high enough to continue production…since the Q climate milk is no longer for sale, we phased out the use of methane suppressants in cow feed and are putting this project on pause.” This shows that consumer voices can lead to real change!

It’s evident that people do not want this kind of milk despite what mainstream media might say about its safety. There seems to be an ongoing effort by some outlets to promote these products as completely safe and effective. However, when you look at who is backing these initiatives financially, things become clearer. Bill Gates has invested over $5 million into the company producing Bovaer and donated over $319 million to various mainstream media outlets. This raises questions about potential biases in reporting on such issues.
